What You’ll Do

You will lead model development and delivery across the full lifecycle and partner closely across product, engineering, and analytics teams to drive acquisition decisions.

  • Partner with cross-functional teams of data scientists, software engineers, and product managers to deliver production-ready products.
  • Use a broad technology stack (Python, Conda, AWS, H2O, Spark, etc.) to analyze large numeric and textual datasets.
  • Design, train, evaluate, validate, and deploy machine learning models for acquisition and underwriting use cases.
  • Own model monitoring, governance, and ongoing improvement after deployment.
  • Translate technical findings into clear business recommendations that influence decision-making.

  • Comfortable with open-source tools and cloud platforms; hands-on contributor who can both design and implement models.
  • Statistically-minded: experienced with model validation, backtesting, and interpreting evaluation metrics (e.g., confusion matrices, ROC curves).
  • Skilled with large-scale data retrieval, combination, and analysis; you understand that deep data knowledge is key to strong modeling.

Minimum Qualifications

Applicants must meet one of the following education + experience combinations (degree is expected to be obtained on or before the scheduled start date):

  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related) plus 6 years of experience performing data analytics.
  • Master’s degree in a quantitative field (or an MBA with a quantitative concentration) plus 4 years of experience performing data analytics.
  • PhD in a quantitative field plus 1 year of experience performing data analytics.

Plus:

  • At least 1 year experience using open-source programming languages for large-scale data analysis.
  • At least 1 year experience with machine learning.
  • At least 1 year experience utilizing relational databases (SQL).

Preferred Qualifications

  • PhD in a STEM discipline plus ~3 years’ experience in data analytics.
  • Experience working with AWS.
  • 4+ years experience in Python, Scala, or R for large-scale data analysis.
  • 4+ years experience developing machine learning solutions.
  • 4+ years experience with SQL.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Cambridge, MA: $197,300 - $225,100 (annual base pay for this management-level, full-time role).
  • This role may be eligible for performance-based incentives (cash bonuses and/or long-term incentives) and a comprehensive benefits package that supports total well-being.
  • Confidential Client may consider sponsoring qualified applicants for employment authorization.
