Role overview

Careertakes is partnering with a confidential client in Accounting & Finance to find a Manager, Credit Risk & Data Analytics to support credit-risk oversight for U.S. Consumer and Small Business portfolios. This is a hybrid, full-time role based in Manhattan, NY. The role focuses on independent reviews, large-scale data analytics, portfolio monitoring, and credible challenge to first-line credit processes and strategies.

What You’ll Do

  • Conduct independent, data-driven reviews of consumer and small business credit processes (new accounts, initial limit decisions and related controls).
  • Design and run large-scale analytics to monitor portfolio health, trends, and concentrations.
  • Produce and publish monitoring reports — portfolio MIS, exception monitoring MIS, Risk Appetite reporting, and other oversight dashboards.
  • Own Exceptions and Smart Monitoring KRIs; escalate and recommend actions when thresholds or exceptions arise.
  • Provide analytical support for credit risk policy, standards, and limit management practices.
  • Identify emerging risks by tracking macroeconomic and market indicators and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Communicate oversight findings clearly to credit-risk peers, business partners, and senior leaders.
  • Partner cross-functionally to validate data, analysis, and remediation plans.

What We’re Looking For

  • 2–5 years experience in credit risk, risk oversight, or risk analytics for large consumer portfolios (entry-to-mid level manager).
  • Advanced degree in a quantitative field (Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Economics or similar) preferred.
  • Strong experience with large-data analytics and an ability to translate findings into risk-management actions.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with tools such as SQL, Python and/or R, Excel, and visualization tools (PowerBI or similar).
  • Solid understanding of credit risk strategies, portfolio management and monitoring frameworks.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to present technical findings to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently under pressure.
  • Intellectual curiosity, sound judgment, and the willingness to challenge the status quo.

Nice to Have

  • Prior experience working in a credit-risk oversight or second/third-line-of-defense function.
  • Experience with KRI design, exception workflows, and Risk Appetite frameworks.
  • Familiarity with consumer-lending products and collections/customer management metrics.

Compensation & Logistics

  • Location: Manhattan, NY (hybrid)
  • Employment type: Full time
  • Salary range (as provided by the client): $89,250 - $150,250 annually + bonus + benefits
  • Posting date: 2026-09-15
  • Application window / target close: (refer to client posting)
  • Work authorization: Confidential client requires eligibility to work in the United States and is not able to sponsor work visas for this role.
