What You’ll Do
As a Management Trainee, you will participate in an Operations Management Trainee Program designed to prepare you for an initial leadership/supervisory role in operations. This is an entry-level training role consisting of an intensive 16-week curriculum plus hands-on on-site experience.
- Complete a structured 16-week leadership and operations curriculum under the guidance of a mentor.
- Learn cross-dock and warehouse operations, freight handling, and process workflows.
- Shadow Account Managers on customer calls to learn client-facing communication.
- Ride along on local delivery routes occasionally to understand the delivery lifecycle.
- Interface daily with Support Center and Service Center associates to complete training milestones.
- Prepare for relocation to another facility for your first operations leadership assignment upon successful completion of the program.
Responsibilities
- Follow a guided training plan and complete assigned study modules and on-the-job activities.
- Assist in cross-dock and terminal operations to gain operational competence.
- Observe and learn operational leadership tasks, including supervising teams and coordinating workflows.
- Support administrative tasks that require basic computer skills (scheduling, reporting, documentation).
- Communicate professionally with peers, drivers, and customers.
- Maintain a safe work environment and follow all safety and compliance procedures.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Transportation, Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, or related field — OR a minimum of two years of related work experience.
- Acceptable driving history that meets client standards.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and effective listening abilities.
- Basic computer literacy (email, MS Office or comparable tools).
- Professional appearance and demeanor; reliable attendance and a strong work ethic.
- Willingness and flexibility to relocate for the initial leadership assignment after program completion.
Preferred Qualifications
- Coursework or internship experience in logistics, transportation, or operations.
- Demonstrated leadership potential (team lead, project work, or supervisory experience).
- Familiarity with cross-dock or terminal operational systems is a plus.
Compensation & Location
- Location: Suwanee, GA (relocation for first leadership role may be required after program completion).
- Average Annual Starting Pay (as listed by client): $50,000–$60,000 (may vary based on location, experience, and qualifications).
- Estimated/UI salary shown on some listings: $43,396 per year — refer to client for exact offer details.
Work Schedule
- First Shift (standard daytime operations). Schedule details will be confirmed by the hiring manager.
