What You’ll Do
This is an entry-level Management Trainee role in a hands-on Operations Management Trainee Program. The program is an intensive 16-week training experience that prepares new leaders for supervisory roles in operations. You will learn the fundamentals of transportation and cross-dock operations, develop leadership and communication skills, and build customer relationships under the guidance of an assigned mentor.
- Complete a structured 16-week leadership training curriculum with guided and independent study
- Observe and learn cross-dock and freight handling processes
- Shadow Account Managers on customer sales calls to understand client relationships
- Accompany drivers on local runs occasionally to learn delivery operations
- Interface with Support Center and Service Center associates to complete program tasks
- Prepare for relocation and transition into your initial operations leadership role upon program completion
Qualifications
Candidates who match the program requirements typically have a mix of education and related experience and demonstrate professionalism, communication skills, and a strong work ethic.
- Bachelor’s degree in Transportation, Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field — OR at least 2 years of directly related work experience
- Acceptable driving history that aligns with our client’s standards (driving record review required)
- Strong verbal and written communication and active listening skills
- Basic computer proficiency (email, MS Office or similar)
- Professional appearance and demeanor
- Willingness and flexibility to relocate for your first leadership assignment after training
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work in a fast-paced operations environment
Compensation & Schedule
- Average Annual Starting Pay: $50,000–$60,000 (may vary by location, experience, and qualifications)
- Employment type: Full-time (program includes internship-style training components)
- Typical shift: First Shift
- Relocation required after successful completion of the trainee program for initial leadership placement
