Overview

This accelerated, entry-level Management & Sales Training Program in Washington, DC prepares you for a Store Management role within 18–24 months. You'll complete an initial 8‑week training and then move into on-the-job development with the goal of progressing into an Assistant Store Manager and beyond. This is a full-time role (typical schedule ~44 hours/week) that may include evenings and weekends. The program focuses on retail operations and professional sales to large commercial customers.


What You’ll Do

  • Complete structured training consistent with the established development program
  • Collaborate with store management to operate and grow a high-volume, million-dollar business
  • Sell to commercial customers such as painting contractors, purchasing agents, manufacturers, and other high-volume buyers
  • Support business strategies to increase sales and optimize profitability
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent service
  • Build and maintain product knowledge to make effective recommendations
  • Build positive relationships with wholesale and retail customers
  • Complete store administration and support visual merchandising and promotional displays
  • Ensure compliance with safety, loss-prevention, and security policies
  • Support employee training, development, performance management, and corrective action
  • Respond to and resolve customer and employee complaints
  • Partner with the Store Manager to make outside sales calls and expand market share

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future
  • Must have a valid, unrestricted driver’s license
  • Must hold at least a bachelor’s degree by the start of the development program
  • Must be able, with or without reasonable accommodation, to retrieve materials from shelves and floor stacks and lift/carry up to 50 lbs frequently and up to 70 lbs occasionally

Preferred Qualifications

  • At least one (1) year experience in retail, sales, or customer service
  • At least one (1) year of leadership experience (supervising others or leading teams)
  • Experience working in team-oriented settings (work, extracurriculars, military, etc.)
  • Previous experience selling paint or paint-related products (helpful but not required)
  • Experience with timekeeping or CRM systems
  • Willingness to relocate for future opportunities
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in more than one language; Spanish language skills are a plus

Compensation & Schedule

  • Employment type: FULL_TIME
  • Typical schedule: ~44 hours per week (may include evenings/weekends)
  • Estimated pay: $117,132 per year (estimated)
  • This role may require a background check due to duties that include access to cash, customer payment methods, electronic equipment, personal information, store merchandise, and interaction with customers (may include minors).
