What You’ll Do

This is an accelerated, entry-level Management & Sales Training Program based in San Jose, CA. The program is designed to prepare you for a Store Management role in approximately 18–24 months, with promotion opportunities into Assistant Store Manager roles following the initial training period.

Estimated compensation: $125,559 per year (estimated).

Typical schedule: About 44 hours per week; may include evenings and weekends.

During the program you will:

  • Work closely with store leadership to learn all store operations, sales and account development, finance, and customer service.
  • Support growth of the store’s commercial and retail business by selling to painting contractors, purchasing agents, manufacturers, and other high-volume customers.
  • Participate in structured classroom and on-the-job training that prepares you for leadership and outside-sales responsibilities.
  • Build professional relationships in the community to grow market share and develop a sales pipeline.

Key Responsibilities

  • Complete the established training curriculum and assessments.
  • Support business strategies to increase sales and optimize profitability.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to ensure high customer satisfaction.
  • Build and maintain product knowledge to provide effective recommendations.
  • Build positive relationships with wholesale and retail customers.
  • Perform store administration and ensure accurate recordkeeping.
  • Maintain safety, loss-prevention, and security compliance.
  • Maintain store appearance and visual merchandising standards.
  • Support training, development, performance feedback, and corrective actions for store staff.
  • Respond to and resolve customer and employee issues.
  • Partner with the Store Manager on outside-sales calls to expand market share.

Minimum Requirements

  • At least 18 years of age.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Valid, unrestricted driver’s license.
  • Bachelor’s degree completed by the program start date.
  • Able, with or without reasonable accommodation, to retrieve items from shelves/floor stacks and lift/carry up to 50 lbs frequently and up to 70 lbs occasionally.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1+ year of retail, sales, or customer service experience.
  • 1+ year in leadership roles (supervising others or leading teams).
  • Experience in team-oriented settings (work, extracurriculars, military service, etc.).
  • Experience selling paint or related products (helpful but not required).
  • Experience using timekeeping and CRM systems.
  • Willingness to relocate for future opportunities.
  • Ability to communicate in more than one language; Spanish proficiency is a plus.
