Program overview
Confidential Client is hiring entry-level candidates for a Management & Sales Training Program in Sacramento, CA. This accelerated development program prepares participants for a Store Management role in approximately 18–24 months. The program includes an initial 8-week training period and hands-on experience managing store operations, customer relationships, and outside sales to large commercial accounts.
What you’ll do
- Complete an established, structured management and sales training program
- Support business strategies to increase sales and optimize profitability
- Provide exceptional customer service and ensure high customer satisfaction
- Build and maintain product knowledge to make effective customer recommendations
- Develop and maintain relationships with wholesale and retail customers, including painting contractors and purchasing agents
- Assist with store administration and daily operational tasks
- Ensure compliance with safety, loss prevention, and security policies
- Maintain store condition and visual merchandising, including promotional displays
- Support employee training, development, performance management, and corrective action
- Respond to and resolve customer and employee concerns
- Partner with Store Manager to make outside sales calls and grow market share

Minimum requirements
- At least 18 years of age
- Legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future
- Valid, unrestricted driver’s license
- Bachelor’s degree completed by the program start
- Ability to retrieve materials from shelves and floor stacks and lift/carry up to 50 lbs frequently and up to 70 lbs on occasion, with or without reasonable accommodation
Preferred qualifications
- 1+ year experience in retail, sales, or customer service
- 1+ year experience in leadership, supervision, or team-leading roles
- Experience working in team settings (work, extracurriculars, military service, etc.)
- Previous experience selling paint or related products and/or using CRM/timekeeping systems
- Willingness to relocate for future opportunities
- Ability to communicate in more than one language; Spanish proficiency a plus
Schedule & work environment
- Typical schedule: approximately 44 hours per week; may include evenings and weekends
- Role involves customer contact (which may include minors) and access to cash, electronic equipment, personal information, and merchandise. A background check may be required where permitted by law.
