What You’ll Do
This accelerated Management and Sales Training Program prepares early-career candidates for store management responsibilities in 18–24 months. The program combines classroom and on-the-job learning to develop skills in sales, operations, leadership, and commercial account management.
Typical responsibilities:
- Complete structured training consistent with the established development program
- Support business strategies to increase sales and optimize profitability
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent service
- Build and maintain product knowledge to make effective customer recommendations
- Build positive relationships with wholesale and retail customers, including painting contractors and commercial buyers
- Complete store administration and support daily operations
- Ensure compliance with policies and procedures, including safety, loss prevention, and security
- Maintain outstanding store condition and visual merchandising standards, including promotional packages and sales floor displays
- Support employee training, development, performance management, and corrective action
- Partner with the Store Manager to make outside sales calls to increase market share
Program details:
- Typical schedule: 44 hours per week (may include evenings and weekends)
- Training includes sales, marketing, finance, operations, and leadership development
- Goal: prepare you for promotion into Assistant Store Manager and a career path in store management and professional sales
What You’ll Bring
Minimum requirements:
- Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age
- Must be legally authorized to work in the US without requiring visa sponsorship now or in the future
- Must have a valid, unrestricted Driver’s License
- Must have at least a bachelor's degree by the start of the development program
- Must be able, with or without reasonable accommodation, to retrieve material from shelves and floor stacks and lift/carry up to 50 lbs frequently and up to 70 lbs on occasion
Preferred qualifications:
- At least 1 year of experience in retail, sales, or customer service
- At least 1 year of leadership experience supervising others or leading teams
- Experience working in team-oriented settings (work, extracurriculars, military service, etc.)
- Prior experience selling paint or paint-related products is a plus
- Experience using timekeeping or CRM systems
- Willingness to relocate for future opportunities
- Multilingual ability, Spanish a plus
Compensation & Benefits
- Estimated pay: $80,539 per year (estimated) — compensation decisions depend on factors such as experience, skills, and geographic differentials.
