What You’ll Do

Confidential Client is hiring an entry-level Management & Sales Training Program participant in Lafayette, LA. This accelerated development program prepares you for a Store Management role within 18–24 months, including an initial 8-week training period that leads toward an Assistant Store Manager position on successful completion.

The typical schedule is 44 hours per week and may include evenings and weekends. You will work closely with store leadership to manage a high-volume retail location, learn operations and commercial sales, and help grow market share with large-volume customers such as painting contractors, purchasing agents, and manufacturers.

Responsibilities

  • Complete training consistent with the established program
  • Support business strategies to increase sales and optimize profitability
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent service
  • Build and maintain product knowledge to deliver effective recommendations
  • Develop and maintain relationships with wholesale and retail customers
  • Complete store administration tasks and daily operational duties
  • Ensure compliance with safety, loss prevention, and security policies
  • Maintain outstanding store condition and visual merchandising standards
  • Support employee training, development, performance management, and corrective action
  • Respond to and resolve customer and employee concerns
  • Partner with the Store Manager to make outside sales calls to increase market share

Minimum Qualifications

  • At least 18 years of age
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future
  • Valid, unrestricted Driver’s License
  • Bachelor’s degree completed by the start of the development program
  • Ability to retrieve materials from shelves and floor stacks and lift/carry up to 50 lbs frequently and up to 70 lbs occasionally (with or without reasonable accommodation)

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1+ year experience in retail, sales, or customer service roles
  • 1+ year leadership experience (supervising or leading teams)
  • Previous team-oriented work experience (employment, extracurriculars, military service, etc.)
  • Experience selling paint or paint-related products (beneficial)
  • Experience with timekeeping and/or CRM systems
  • Willingness to relocate for future opportunities
  • Multilingual ability, Spanish language skills a plus

Compensation & Schedule

  • Employment type: FULL_TIME
