What You’ll Do
This accelerated Management & Sales Training Program prepares early-career candidates for a Store Management role in approximately 18–24 months. You’ll begin with an intensive 8-week training program and then rotate into hands-on store and field experiences to build leadership, sales, operations, and customer relationship skills.
- Typical schedule: ~44 hours per week; may include evenings and weekends
- Learn store operations, merchandising, finance, safety, and loss-prevention procedures
- Support revenue growth by selling product to wholesale and commercial customers (e.g., painting contractors, purchasing agents, manufacturers)
- Partner with store leadership to manage a high-volume (million-dollar) retail location
- Assist with outside sales calls to grow market share
- Maintain outstanding store condition and visual merchandising standards
- Support hiring, training, development, and performance management for store teams
- Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable laws and regulations
- Interact with customers and handle transactions; role may require supervised or unsupervised access to cash, payments, personal information, and other assets
Responsibilities
- Complete the structured training program and assigned development activities
- Execute business strategies to increase sales and optimize profitability
- Deliver exceptional customer service and product recommendations
- Build and maintain relationships with wholesale and retail customers
- Perform store administration and use timekeeping/CRM tools as required
- Support employee training, development, performance management, and corrective action
- Respond to and resolve customer and employee issues in a timely manner
Minimum Qualifications
- At least 18 years of age
- Legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future
- Valid, unrestricted driver’s license
- Bachelor’s degree completed by the start of the development program
- Able, with or without reasonable accommodation, to retrieve materials from shelves and floor stacks and lift/carry up to 50 lbs frequently and up to 70 lbs occasionally
Preferred Qualifications
- ≥1 year experience in retail, sales, or customer service
- ≥1 year in a leadership role (supervising others or leading teams)
- Experience in team-oriented settings (work, extracurriculars, military service)
- Experience selling paint or paint-related products
- Familiarity with timekeeping and/or CRM systems
- Willingness to relocate for future opportunities
- Bilingual ability (Spanish a plus)
Compensation & Benefits
- Estimated annual pay (as listed by source): $75,395 per year (estimated)
