What You’ll Do
The Management & Sales Training Program in Atascadero, CA is an accelerated, entry-level development program designed to prepare you for a Store Management role in 18–24 months. You will complete an initial 8-week training program and then work alongside store leadership to learn store operations, sales, outside-account development, and team leadership while supporting a high-volume retail location.
This is a full-time role (typical schedule ~44 hours/week) and may include evenings and weekends. The position involves regular contact with customers and occasional access to cash, electronic equipment, and other items of value; a background check may be required where permitted by law.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete training consistent with the established program and development milestones
- Support store business strategies to increase sales and optimize profitability
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent service and product recommendations
- Build and maintain product knowledge to advise retail and wholesale clients effectively
- Develop positive relationships with painting contractors, purchasing agents, manufacturers, and other commercial customers to grow market share
- Assist with store administration, merchandising, and maintaining outstanding store condition and visual standards
- Support employee training, development, performance management, and corrective action when needed
- Respond to and resolve customer and employee concerns professionally and promptly
- Partner with the Store Manager on outside sales calls to expand business opportunities

Estimated Compensation
- Estimated: $115,191 per year (estimated figure provided by source). Compensation decisions consider experience, skills, certifications, and other business needs; final offer may vary.
Minimum Requirements
- At least 18 years of age
- Legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future
- Valid, unrestricted driver’s license
- Bachelor’s degree (completed before program start)
- Ability to retrieve materials from shelves and floor stacks and lift/carry up to 50 lbs frequently and up to 70 lbs on occasion (with or without reasonable accommodation)
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum one year experience in retail, sales, or customer service
- Minimum one year experience in leadership, supervising, or leading teams
- Experience in team-oriented settings (work, extracurriculars, military service, etc.)
- Previous experience selling paint or paint-related products (helpful but not required)
- Familiarity with timekeeping or CRM systems
- Willingness to relocate for future opportunities
- Bilingual ability (Spanish or other languages) is a plus
