What You’ll Do

Confidential Client’s Data & Analytics team is looking for an Experienced Associate — Managed Services Data Engineer to help design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and business intelligence solutions. In this role you will work on ETL development, data architecture, and reporting to deliver insights that improve client outcomes. You’ll learn on the job, collaborate with technical and business teams, and contribute to client-facing engagements while developing your technical and professional skills.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement data-driven solutions to optimize business performance (ETL, data engineering)
  • Build and maintain reliable data pipelines using industry tools and job scheduling processes
  • Optimize SQL and database performance to support analytics and reporting
  • Work with DataStage and other ETL tools to integrate data from multiple sources
  • Create reports and dashboards using BI tools such as Oracle Business Intelligence, QlikView, or Spotfire
  • Contribute to data architecture design including star schemas, dimension modeling, and snowflake models
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, analyze data patterns, and surface insights
  • Support continuous process improvement to enhance data quality and integrity
  • Operate in regulated and client-sensitive environments with attention to security and compliance
  • Participate in developing business cases and market development efforts through data analysis
  • Take ownership of deliverables, adapt in a fast-paced environment, and communicate clearly with stakeholders

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (or equivalent experience)
  • Minimum 1 year of professional experience in data engineering, ETL, or analytics-supporting roles
  • Practical experience with SQL and relational databases (DB2, SQL Server or similar)

Preferred / Nice-to-have Skills

  • Experience with DataStage or similar ETL platforms
  • Familiarity with Oracle Business Intelligence, QlikView, or Spotfire
  • Proficiency in Python and/or Java for data processing and automation
  • Knowledge of data architecture best practices (star schemas, snowflake modeling)
  • Experience with job scheduling, UNIX, and production support processes
  • Exposure to regulated industries or client-facing professional services
  • Academic background in Computer Science, Economics, Statistics, Engineering, Operations Research, or related fields is a plus

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary range: $63,000 - $140,000 per year. Actual compensation will depend on skills, experience, qualifications, and location in accordance with applicable law.
  • Eligible for an annual discretionary bonus where applicable.
  • Benefits typically include medical, dental, vision, retirement plan (401k), paid holidays, vacation, and personal/family sick leave. Specific benefits will be provided by the hiring organization at offer.

Location & Work Authorization

  • Location: Kansas City, MO (on-site / local office-based expectations as defined by the client)
