What You’ll Do

This is an on-site, hands-on maintenance role supporting facilities operations. Typical duties include:

  • Perform carpentry repairs and furniture restoration (repair door jams and stops, remove/plane doors, replace door locks).
  • Diagnose and repair routine mechanical, plumbing, and electrical maintenance issues.
  • Paint interior walls and partitions; repair or replace chalkboards; build and install shelves and bookcases.
  • Follow prescribed procedures, make independent choices among predefined options, and complete assigned work with general supervision.
  • Work alone or as part of a team; tasks may be spot-checked during progress or inspected at completion.
  • Adhere to all safety policies and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).

Primary Skills & Requirements

  • Experience with on-site carpentry repair and general facilities maintenance.
  • Practical experience diagnosing and repairing basic plumbing, electrical, or mechanical issues.
  • Ability to perform physical labor in varying weather conditions; frequent standing and walking.
  • Able to frequently lift up to 20 lbs and occasionally lift 21–40 lbs; rare tasks may require lifting over 40 lbs.
  • Ability to climb ladders and scaffolds, kneel, crawl, bend, stoop, and reach above shoulder level.
  • Visual acuity (including color vision) required for some tasks.
  • Valid California Class C Noncommercial Driver’s License required or ability to obtain and maintain one.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree OR equivalent relevant experience in facilities, trades, or maintenance.
  • Successful completion of any required background checks as part of the hiring process.
  • This is a 6+ month W2 contract (possible conversion to direct hire). Compensation: $35.00 – $43.50 per hour (W2).

Working Conditions & Location

  • Onsite at our client’s facility in Stanford, CA.
  • Role includes indoor and outdoor work; may require use of ladders, scaffolds, power and hand tools.
  • Schedule and exact shift details will be provided by the hiring manager during interview.
