What You’ll Do

This entry-level Maintenance Engineer role supports safe, reliable, and efficient operations at a cement production facility. You will perform routine and preventive maintenance, troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues, support equipment upgrades, and help plan shutdowns and improvements.

  • Perform routine and preventive maintenance on crushers, grinders, kilns, conveyors, and other material-handling systems to minimize downtime.
  • Identify, diagnose, and resolve mechanical issues using structured problem-solving methods.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, inspections, and parts usage.
  • Contribute to development and continuous improvement of maintenance schedules, procedures, and best practices.
  • Coordinate maintenance work with production and other departments to reduce operational impact.
  • Participate in team meetings to review projects, priorities, and progress.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and participate in safety drills and initiatives.
  • Support projects such as equipment upgrades, modifications, and installations—provide technical input and hands-on assistance.
  • Assist in planning major shutdowns: prepare instructions, estimate labor and materials, and identify special tools.
  • Use maintenance management software (e.g., Tabware) and engineering tools (AutoCAD, Microsoft Project) to document work and support planning.
  • Pursue professional development opportunities to grow skills in maintenance engineering and cement production.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Entry-level — recent graduates encouraged to apply.
  • Basic understanding of mechanical systems, electrical systems, and industrial instrumentation.
  • Ability to analyze problems, develop practical solutions, and implement corrective actions.
  • Strong attention to detail and accurate documentation skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency with Tabware or similar CMMS, AutoCAD, Microsoft Project, and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Preferred / additional

  • Familiarity with CAD tools and basic engineering drawing review.
  • Interest in cement production processes and heavy industrial equipment.
  • Motivated to learn advanced troubleshooting for mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation systems.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Work Environment

This is a manufacturing-floor role at a cement plant: expect ~80% time on the production floor and ~20% in an office setting. The facility is a heavy-industrial environment with dust, noise, heat, and large rotating equipment. Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and strict safety practices are required.


Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary range: $60,000 - $75,000 per year.
