What You’ll Do

This entry-level Machining Engineer role will support the design, implementation and continuous improvement of machining processes and equipment at the plant in Whitakers, NC.

• Assist in planning, designing, purchasing and implementing machining processes and equipment to meet product specifications.
• Define parts, tooling and setups to reduce changeover time and improve throughput.
• Create, validate and maintain factory-floor machine programs to increase machine utilization and reliability.
• Select cutting tools and material-removal processes that meet product requirements at the lowest total cost.
• Design and implement measurement and inspection methods using GD&T and dimensional metrology principles.
• Perform equipment engineering evaluations and recommend modifications to improve product quality and process capability.
• Produce process documentation and standard operating procedures to ensure repeatability and handoff to stakeholders.
• Support equipment/capital procurement by evaluating vendor solutions against project and manufacturing requirements.
• Use continuous improvement tools and collaborate cross-functionally to increase equipment availability and capability.
• Apply machine guarding and other health & safety fundamentals to reduce risk and support an injury-free workplace.

Who You Are (Qualifications)

• College degree in STEM (Mechanical Engineering preferred) or equivalent experience required.
• Entry-level: basic relevant work experience; position is designed for early career candidates (typically within 2 years of degree completion).
• Familiarity or coursework in GD&T, CNC programming, measurement principles, and manufacturing problem solving.
• Strong written communication and ability to produce clear process documentation.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across engineering, manufacturing and quality teams.
• Ability to work on-site at the Whitakers, NC facility (role is on-site with flexibility).

Notes on eligibility:

• International students (F-1) must have approved CPT or OPT prior to the assignment start; CPT/OPT must be authorized by the university.

• Salary range: $67,200 — $100,800 per year (posted range).
• Role type: Full-time, Exempt — Entry Level.
• Start date: Jan 2027 (approximate).

• Work location: On-site with flexibility — Whitakers, NC (required).
• This position may require licensing or export compliance checks depending on assignment.
