Role Overview
Confidential Client is seeking an entry-level M/E Engineer 1 to support mechanical, electrical and field construction activities on commercial construction projects. This role assists with estimating, bid analysis, systems review and basic commissioning tasks while learning company tools, quality expectations and safety practices.

What You’ll Do
The M/E Engineer 1 performs entry-level engineering and construction support tasks across mechanical and electrical scopes. Key responsibilities include:
- Learn and follow the company’s safety and quality programs; model an injury-free mindset.
- Complete routine mechanical, electrical and field construction activities under supervision.
- Collect and assemble project data to support estimating and systems analysis.
- Learn to develop budgetary M/E estimates from program and schematic design information using automated estimating tools.
- Assist preconstruction reviews, assessing mechanical and electrical system options.
- Help develop mechanical/electrical scopes of work used during bidding and coordination.
- Support bid analysis and provide input for subcontractor selection.
- Assist in sequencing system installations to meet schedule needs and develop practical solutions.
- Review design documents to identify potential constructability or quality issues.
- Assist with jobsite inspections to help ensure work meets specifications and quality standards.
- Support shop drawing/submittal processes to comply with contract documents.
- Assist commissioning tasks including pre-functional checklists, functional testing procedures and execution of functional tests.
Who We’re Looking For (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)
- Ability to perform assigned work accurately, completely and on time.
- Intermediate verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Ability to read and understand plans, drawings and specifications.
- Familiarity or willingness to learn basic M/E estimating and construction tools/software.
- Understanding of construction means and methods (or strong willingness to learn).
- Team player who can build collaborative relationships across disciplines.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a related field (required). Equivalent relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
- 0–2 years construction-related experience and/or internship/co-op experience preferred.
