What You’ll Do

Confidential Client is seeking a Logistics Specialist (Weekend Shift) to help manage day-to-day shipment routing, tracking, and issue resolution for domestic and international freight. This role supports operational excellence and cost control while delivering high-quality customer service.

• Route cargo according to legal and customer requirements (mode, equipment, service level, transit time, loading/offloading).
• Coordinate carrier selection and tendering using contract rates and least-cost practices; obtain spot quotes as needed.
• Prepare and distribute shipping documentation (certificates of origin, customs invoices, packing lists, certificates of insurance).
• Track and expedite shipments, monitor progress, and resolve issues or delays.
• Capture and reconcile all shipment costs (freight, detention, storage, accessorials, demurrage, surcharges, etc.).
• Manage freight claims and maintain tracking/metrics tools; participate in project calls and team meetings.
• Ensure compliance with DOT and other transport regulations (permitting, oversize/over-dimensional, HazMat).
• Train new staff or clients when required and contribute subject-matter expertise on logistics and transportation.
• Proactively identify cost-savings and value-add opportunities for customers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field required.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proven written and verbal communication skills; excellent customer service orientation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
• Experience with logistics/transportation software; ability to learn and use client-specific tools.
• Knowledge of relevant regulations and international logistics practices preferred (transportation, customs, warehousing).
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.

Schedule, Location & Employment Type

• Location: Fort Myers, FL (hybrid)
• Work schedule (typical): 40 hours/week — Thursday, Friday and Monday 8:00 AM–5:00 PM in office; Saturday & Sunday 8:00 AM–5:00 PM remote.
• Position classification: Full‑time; Salaried Exempt; Entry‑Level.

• Estimated pay: $57,332 per year (estimated).
