Role overview
Confidential Client (via Careertakes) is seeking a Logistics Engineer to support IT programs in Martinsburg, WV. This entry-level role focuses on designing and optimizing logistics processes that support technology delivery and IT asset lifecycle management. You will work across engineering, IT, and program teams to improve inventory accuracy, support configuration management, produce performance reporting, and contribute to process improvements.
What you’ll do
- Support design and optimization of logistics and asset-management processes for IT programs
- Perform data-driven demand planning and inventory analysis to help balance stock and needs
- Assist with IT asset tracking, tagging, and lifecycle management
- Support configuration management and document logistics workflows and procedures
- Generate logistics performance metrics and regular reports for stakeholders
- Collaborate with engineering, IT, and program teams to streamline workflows and improve turnaround times
- Help ensure compliance with federal and organization-level logistics and IT policies
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and process mapping exercises
Required qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, supply chain, logistics, or a related field
- Familiarity with logistics or supply chain concepts and basic inventory control
- Experience with data analysis and strong Excel skills; exposure to BI tools (Power BI, Tableau) is preferred
- Basic knowledge of IT asset management and configuration management support
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to obtain and maintain a federal public trust or security clearance if required
Preferred skills & tools
- Experience with demand planning or inventory forecasting
- Familiarity with Power BI, Tableau, or similar BI/reporting tools
- Experience performing process mapping and requirements documentation
- Comfortable working in a federal or enterprise IT environment
- Strong written and verbal communication for cross-functional collaboration
Compensation & benefits
- Salary: $80,000 - $100,000 per year (range provided by the client)
