Position overview
Confidential Client is seeking a detail-oriented Logistic Specialist to join their operations team. This full-time, salaried role focuses on managing shipment routing, claims handling, documentation, and cost-saving initiatives across international and domestic supply chains. The position supports clients across diverse industry sectors and uses logistics platforms to coordinate freight and ensure regulatory compliance.
Compensation & work type
- Salary: $48,000 - $50,000 per year
- Employment type: Full-time, Exempt (Entry-level)
- Remote/Flexible: Remote-friendly / TELECOMMUTE — one day per week WFH (must support occasional in-office, weekend or after-hours on-call duties as required)
Key responsibilities
- Route cargo in compliance with legal, DOT, Hazmat and customer requirements
- Coordinate routing and shipment execution with carriers and internal stakeholders
- Own issue resolution for shipments and manage claims with logistics service providers
- Track claims status, retain invoicing and repair documentation, and follow up for reimbursements
- Update claims databases and coordinate funds transfer confirmations with Finance
- Prepare and verify shipping documentation (certificates of origin, packing lists, customs invoices, certificates of insurance)
- Expedite specialized shipments and reliably track shipment progress
- Identify and capture savings and value-add opportunities
- Participate in team and client calls, provide logistics consulting, and train new staff or clients as needed
- Maintain regulatory compliance including permitting and over-dimensional shipments
- Minimize risk exposure for Confidential Client and its customers
- Contribute to logistics research, process improvements, and potential industry publications
Required qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proven customer-service orientation and issue-resolution experience
- Problem-solving and data-analysis skills
- Ability to work a standard 40-hour schedule (8:00 AM–5:00 PM M–F) with occasional after-hours support
Preferred experience
- International logistics experience
- Experience with scheduling and critical-path management
- Familiarity with freight forwarding, customs documentation, and DOT/Hazmat regulations
- Experience using logistics platforms / TMS software
