Position Overview

Confidential Client is seeking a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC) to join their Maplewood, MN site in a part-time, contractor capacity. This role delivers evidence-based substance use and behavioral health treatment through individual and group counseling, documentation in EHRs, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team. Hourly pay: $30.00–$40.00.


What You’ll Do

  • Provide individual and group counseling to clients with substance use and co-occurring mental health conditions in accordance with Minnesota DHS requirements.
  • Complete timely, accurate clinical documentation using the organization’s electronic health record (EHR) system.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, progress notes, and case management activities.
  • Maintain client confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and state/federal regulations.
  • Participate in team meetings, case reviews, and care coordination with other clinical and support staff.
  • Support recovery-focused activities and foster an environment of respect and empathy for clients from diverse backgrounds.
  • Meet any physical demands of the role (e.g., sitting for extended periods, limited lifting up to 10 lbs, navigating program facilities).

  • Hourly rate: $30.00 – $40.00 per hour

Minimum Qualifications

  • Current LADC license in good standing (Minnesota).
  • 18 years of age or older.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of substance use disorders and/or mental health treatment in an addiction treatment setting.
  • Previous counseling experience or completion of a counseling internship.
  • Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) and general computer literacy.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, customer service, and case management skills.
  • Ability to pass Minnesota DHS background study and any required pre-employment screenings, including E-Verify participation.
  • Ability to read, write, and document clinical information effectively in English.
  • Maturity, patience, empathy, and the ability to work effectively with a multidisciplinary team and clients from diverse backgrounds.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Additional licenses (LP, LICSW, LMFT, LPCC) are a plus.
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a related field (e.g., social work, counseling, psychology).
  • Experience as a consultant, facilitator, or group leader.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, mediation, and negotiation skills.
