What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is seeking an entry-level Legal Practice Coordinator to support its Telecommunications, Media & Technology (TMT) practice. This role provides administrative and basic legal support to attorneys and the legal practice support team. Typical responsibilities include:
- Assisting with preparation and electronic filing at federal and state agencies (including FCC and state commission portals) under attorney direction
- Maintaining matter and client data used for regulatory filings and practice group systems
- Monitoring, compiling, proofreading, and distributing practice updates and regulatory developments
- Supporting document production, organization, and routine legal research tasks
- Establishing and maintaining manual and electronic matter files and databases
- Tracking deadlines, matter status, and outstanding tasks; following up as directed
- Coordinating communications and logistics across attorneys and practice support teams
- Participating in supervised communications with clients, agencies, and third parties for routine information exchange
- Supporting marketing and business development initiatives, including webinars and client events
- Providing overflow administrative support and performing other duties as assigned
Location & Schedule
- Location: Johnson City, TN (role will be based in-office with a hybrid in-office/remote schedule)
- Employment type: Full-time
- Flexibility to work occasional overtime preferred
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience; ~1 year professional experience preferred
- Familiarity or ability to learn legal research resources (e.g., Lexis/Nexis, Westlaw), FCC/state commission websites, and Firm-approved AI tools
- Comfort using electronic filing portals and common document/communication tools (Outlook, secure file transfer, ClientSite-like platforms)
- Strong proofreading skills, attention to detail, and good time-management/organizational ability
- Professional demeanor, self-starter who can work independently and as part of a team
- Strong interpersonal skills; able to manage confidential information with discretion
- Ability to prioritize, balance competing demands, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Compensation & Benefits
- Source posting listed a salary range of $75,400 — $120,550 (as provided by the client). Final pay will depend on experience, qualifications, and other factors.
- Typical benefits may include medical plans, HSA/FSA options, parental leave, vacation/holiday leave, life and disability insurance, and retirement plan eligibility. Specific benefits will be provided by the client at offer stage.
