About the Role
Confidential Client is hiring a Leave Advisor to join a collaborative Leave Team focused on guiding employees through leave-of-absence events (pre-education, initiation, active leave, and return-to-work). This is a full-time, in-office role based in Houston, TX (Energy Corridor office). The role provides concierge-level service to employees, managers and HR partners and requires strong operational execution, legal/technical knowledge of leave programs, and excellent stakeholder management.

What You’ll Do
- Serve as a leave concierge: guide and educate employees through pre-education, initiation, handling, and closure/return-to-work phases.
- Build and maintain relationships with managers, HRBPs, ER, payroll and external vendors to ensure timely completion of leave tasks.
- Maintain working knowledge of federal, state, and company leave policies (including FMLA) and apply them to individual cases.
- Use leave-management software to distribute/collect required forms, track progress, and close leave events by required deadlines.
- Coordinate ADA processes with stakeholders and assist with reasonable accommodation intake and tracking.
- Enter leave actions and time in SAP (PTO, paid sick leave, vacation, pay adjustments) and coordinate with payroll to resolve discrepancies.
- Communicate with disability vendors as needed to support claim handling and timely outcomes.
- Manage escalations, investigate issues, and resolve complex employee cases with sound judgment and documentation.
- Collaborate with peers to cross-train, standardize processes, share best practices, and drive continuous improvement.
- Support initiatives to optimize the employee experience and implement technology-enabled process improvements.
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Management, or equivalent experience.
- 2–4 years’ experience in HR, shared services, or human capital consulting supporting disability benefits and statutory leaves (including FMLA).
- Familiarity with leave-management systems and HRIS tools (SAP experience preferred; ServiceNow / AbsenceSoft knowledge is a plus).
- Basic investigative and analytical skills to assess leave eligibility and recommend appropriate leave plans.
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships and influence at multiple organizational levels; strong customer-service orientation.
- Preferred certifications: PHR, CLMS.
- Preferred experience: Canadian leave programs, Spanish language skills.
- Strong attention to detail, confidentiality, and the ability to apply federal/state/local leave laws accurately.
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Able to work independently, manage competing priorities, and provide high-quality work under deadlines.
- Regular, predictable on-site attendance and ability to work occasional overtime/weekends as required.
