Position overview

Confidential Client is hiring a Leave Advisor to provide end-to-end leave-of-absence support for employees, managers, and HR partners. This in‑office, full-time role in Benson, NE focuses on delivering a concierge-level employee experience, applying federal and state leave laws (including FMLA), coordinating with vendors and payroll, and using HR systems (including SAP) to process leave actions accurately and on time.


What You’ll Do

  • Serve as a leave concierge — guide employees through pre-education, initiation, management, and return-to-work phases of leave
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with employees, managers, HRBPs, payroll, and external vendors to ensure timely information flow
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of paid/unpaid leave laws, company leave policies, and ADA coordination
  • Use leave-management software to distribute, collect, and process required forms and meet deadlines
  • Enter leave actions and time adjustments in SAP (PTO, sick carryover, vacation, pay additions/removals)
  • Coordinate with payroll and other internal teams to resolve leave-related issues
  • Communicate with disability vendors and support timely claim handling
  • Manage escalations and lead issue resolution with sound judgment
  • Contribute to continuous improvement: document best practices, cross-train peers, and help evolve leave processes to improve the employee experience

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Management, or equivalent experience
  • 2–4 years in HR, shared services, or human capital consulting with experience in disability benefits and statutory leaves (including FMLA)
  • Basic investigative and analytical skills to assess leave needs and recommend appropriate leave plans
  • Proven ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders across multiple levels
  • Strong customer-service focus with experience improving service delivery and processes
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to apply leave laws and company policies accurately
  • Ability to work independently, exercise good judgment, and produce high-quality work on tight timelines
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Regular, predictable on-site attendance and ability to work normal business hours (overtime/weekend work as required)
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality

Preferred

  • CLMS certification
  • Basic SAP experience
  • Experience with Canadian leave of absence rules
  • Bilingual in English and French
