Role overview

Confidential Client is seeking a Leasing Coordinator to support leasing, lease transfers, outreach, and housing operations at a student apartment community in North College Park, MD (100% in-office at the South Campus Commons area). This role is the primary contact for prospective and current residents and supports accurate recordkeeping, excellent customer service, and execution of leasing and marketing initiatives.


What You’ll Do

  • Provide information and guidance on leasing, lease transfers, occupancy policies, and leasing processes.
  • Conduct leasing and lease-transfer appointments; create and maintain resident files and documentation.
  • Support resident move-ins, move-outs, apartment selection processes, and unit inspections.
  • Respond to resident inquiries via in-person, phone, and electronic channels; escalate complex issues appropriately.
  • Assist with community outreach: information sessions, tours, tabling events, marketing surveys, and special events.
  • Support outreach and retention initiatives through event coordination and communications.
  • Monitor local market trends and occupancy metrics to support leasing targets.
  • Maintain accurate resident and leasing records using property management systems (Entrata, StarRez, DocuSign).
  • Prepare weekly occupancy and operational reports; conduct regular audits of resident files and databases.
  • Collaborate with accounts/billing staff to ensure account accuracy.
  • Support front-desk and administrative tasks: reception, data entry, filing, and special projects as assigned.
  • Maintain a professional, welcoming office environment that promotes a positive resident experience.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 1–2 years entry-level experience in college student housing administration or property-management leasing operations.
  • Experience with campus marketing and conducting community tours.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Familiarity with Entrata, StarRez, and DocuSign is strongly preferred.
  • Strong communication and customer-service skills; demonstrated ability to engage with students, families, campus partners, and vendors.
  • Ability to analyze occupancy data and support strategic occupancy planning.
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment and perform basic typing and filing.
  • Ability to work primarily Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM; occasional evenings or weekends required during peak leasing periods, move-ins/outs, or special events.
  • Ability to move and lift up to 35 pounds.

Compensation & benefits

  • Hourly rate: $21.00–$22.00 per hour (commensurate with experience).

Work environment & physical requirements

The role is performed in an office-based student-housing environment that can be mid- to high-paced with moderate noise levels. Typical duties require frequent sitting, reaching, and communicating in person and in writing; occasional standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 35 pounds.
