Role Overview

This hands‑on Lean Engineer I / II role will partner with project leadership and frontline teams to drive continuous improvement across a growing manufacturing and fabrication operation for a confidential client. You will facilitate Kaizen events, implement 5S and standardized work, improve production flow, and help teams sustain measurable gains. The position operates on a rotational, travel‑heavy schedule and requires extended stays at active project sites.


What You’ll Do

  • Partner closely with project leadership and craft workforce to establish trust and gain buy‑in for lean approaches
  • Facilitate Kaizen events and lead improvement workshops on site
  • Implement and sustain 5S, standardized work and one‑piece flow practices
  • Assess work against standards, help teams address abnormalities, and reinforce continuous improvement tools
  • Support daily planning, flow schedule development, and work management with superintendents and forepersons
  • Promote reduced batching and improved production flow for self‑perform work
  • Communicate 5S and process standards to new workforce and trade partners during onboarding
  • Capture and share lessons learned across projects and provide regular feedback to group lean leadership
  • Train and coach frontline crews in problem solving and structured continuous improvement methods
  • Travel to project sites and stay on assignment for multi‑week rotations as required
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support safe, efficient operations

Where You’ll Work & Travel

This position follows a rotational travel schedule. Candidates must be willing to travel and stay on a project for multiple weeks at a time (rotations home between assignments). Current project sites include Eagle Mountain, UT; Lebanon, IN; Los Lunas, NM; and Monroe, LA. Travel may be up to 75%.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Engineering, or closely related field — OR equivalent combination of education and multi‑year technical/field experience
  • Internship or prior experience in construction or manufacturing preferred
  • Prior experience working on construction job sites preferred
  • Current valid driver’s license
  • Solid understanding and practical application of continuous improvement principles (Kaizen, 5S, standardized work, one‑piece flow)
  • Demonstrated ability to train, facilitate, and influence across organizational levels and diverse teams
  • Strong reliability, follow‑through, active listening, and communication skills
  • Proactive, self‑starter with a growth mindset and strong curiosity
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 75%

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base pay range: $78,800 – $98,500 per year. Base pay is positioned within the range based on experience, knowledge, and internal equity. This role is eligible for the client’s incentive plan.
