What You’ll Do

The Lean Associate supports project delivery by assisting with Lean implementation and planning routines on assigned construction projects. Working under Lean leadership and alongside Project Managers, Superintendents, trade partners, and project-level Lean Champions, you will help increase workflow reliability and coach teams on Last Planner practices.

  • Support Lean implementation activities on smaller construction projects with oversight from Senior Lean Associates or Lean Managers
  • Assist project teams during early planning cycles and coach teams toward ownership of planning routines
  • Help deliver introductory Lean and Last Planner System training and prepare project-specific training materials
  • Coach teams on Last Planner System behaviors and reinforce planning discipline and commitment reliability
  • Support data collection and documentation for Team Health Surveys and retrospectives, capturing actions and improvement themes
  • Help prepare logistics for partnering meetings, Collaborative Design Sessions, and team alignment sessions; assist with breakout activities
  • Provide feedback on Lean tools, templates, and pilot testing of new processes
  • Travel to company/subsidiary offices, offsite client/subcontractor/supplier meetings, and other locations across North America as required
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 1–3 years of practical experience implementing Lean practices on construction projects (or equivalent experience)
  • Familiarity with Lean philosophy and the Last Planner System; understanding of CPM/Last Planner integration preferred
  • Experience with collaborative planning and facilitation environments preferred
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively to project locations across North America (up to 85%)
  • Reliable attendance and ability to perform required duties in person as dictated by project or office needs
  • Ability to work remotely (telecommute) and coordinate with distributed project teams

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with Touchplan or other Last Planner System management tools
  • Demonstrated facilitation or training delivery experience
  • Strong communication, coaching, and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Experience capturing team health or continuous improvement metrics

Location & Travel
