Position overview
Confidential Client is hiring an entry-level Law Enforcement Intelligence Analyst (classified as Government Operations Consultant II / Law Enforcement Intelligence Analyst I). This full‑time role supports criminal intelligence collection, analysis, and dissemination to internal and external law‑enforcement partners. The position is based in Tampa Palms, FL and includes responsibilities that support investigations and patrol operations.
Key responsibilities
- Respond to requests for analytical and investigative assistance from state, local, and federal law‑enforcement agencies.
- Research, analyze, and evaluate criminal intelligence data to determine source reliability, identify trends/patterns, and develop investigative leads.
- Prepare and distribute intelligence products including reports, briefings, threat assessments, and presentations for investigators and operational staff.
- Conduct complex research on crime‑specific or domestic‑security information relevant to investigations and patrol operations.
- Request, receive, analyze, and document confidential information using electronic and technical systems, exercising discretion and high confidentiality.
- Operate analytic tools and software, maintain knowledge of analytic resources, and quickly learn new programs.
- Establish and maintain liaison with personnel across local, state, federal, and international agencies.
- Attend required trainings, support shift coverage and on‑call duties, and perform other duties as assigned.
What we’re looking for (required knowledge, skills & abilities)
- Knowledge of criminal or military intelligence concepts, investigative or financial analysis, or experience in a law‑enforcement environment.
- Familiarity with research and intelligence analysis techniques and procedures.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to prepare clear oral, written, and graphical presentations.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information in accordance with applicable policies and law.
- Ability to organize and analyze large volumes of data to identify trends and patterns.
- Strong time‑management skills and ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
- Ability to work both collaboratively and independently, and to establish effective working relationships with law‑enforcement personnel.
- Ability to testify in court if needed.
- Basic computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office) and ability to learn investigative/analytic software (examples: DAVID, CAD, PenLink, or comparable tools).
- Strong attention to detail, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills; customer service orientation.
Preferred qualifications
- At least four (4) years’ primary experience in intelligence or analysis; or
- One (1) year of primary intelligence/analysis experience plus a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Criminal Justice or a related field.
- Prior experience producing intelligence products for law enforcement preferred.
Job-related requirements
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret-level national security clearance.
- Must be able to travel in-state and out-of-state for limited travel.
- Must be able to alternate shifts/workdays and be available for overnight and weekend on‑call duty as required by agency needs.
- Incumbent must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license in good standing (no cancellations, suspensions, or revocations for at least three years prior to employment; no more than three chargeable crashes or any Chapter 316, Florida Statutes, violations within any consecutive three‑year period).
- Position is subject to a Level 2 background check and Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS) clearance, including an FBI fingerprint‑based criminal record check; CJIS access may include sealed or expunged records.
- The state hires only U.S. citizens and lawfully authorized workers; Confidential Client does not sponsor work visas (e.g., H‑1B) or CPT/OPT.
Compensation & benefits
- Posted base salary (source): $45,000.00 annually.
- Benefits include paid parental leave, annual and sick leave, nine paid holidays, state health and life insurance, educational benefits, and a contributory retirement plan.
