What You’ll Do

Confidential client is hiring a Launch & Test Fluids Engineer to design, build, activate, and troubleshoot fluid systems that support launch and test operations. This is a hands-on, fast-paced role that pairs field work with engineering design and system-level analysis.

• Analyze, design, and build fluid and mechanical systems supporting rocket launches and testing
• Own projects from concept through installation: lead design reviews, justify decisions, procure equipment, and coordinate construction
• Design modular, manufacturable hardware for repeated deployment at multiple launch sites
• Perform system-level process design, sizing, detailed pressurized fluid and thermal analysis, and materials/component selection
• Collaborate directly with technicians and operations teams to install, activate, and iterate on hardware
• Troubleshoot equipment in real time and optimize maintenance strategies to reduce downtime
• Perform hands-on field work and respond rapidly to changing launch/test priorities

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Aerospace engineering, or related engineering discipline
• 1+ years of hands-on build or design experience (internship, club, or competition team experience qualifies)
• Authorized to work in the United States (ability to comply with local background checks and site access requirements)

Preferred Skills & Experience

• 3+ years of mechanical, fluids, or thermal design experience in an industrial setting (or equivalent)
• Strong fundamentals with fluid and/or structural/mechanical systems and rapid problem solving under pressure
• Experience with high-pressure and cryogenic fluid systems and their components
• Experience producing fabrication drawings and familiarity with ASME piping/pressure-vessel considerations
• Intermediate CAD skills (NX experience is a plus); familiarity with verification via hand calculations, FEA, or CFD
• Hands-on fabrication experience (machining, welding, instrumentation) a plus
• Experience with instrumentation, test execution, data analysis, and correlation to analytical models
• Excellent written and verbal communication; collaborative and detail-oriented

Additional Requirements & Working Conditions

• Ability to support emergency calls, priority projects, and launches (extended hours/weekends as needed)
• Ability to pass required background checks for Cape Canaveral access
• Comfort working outdoors in varying conditions (heat, cold, wind, rain) and in confined spaces when needed
• Physical dexterity: standing, kneeling, crouching, working in confined spaces, climbing, and lifting up to 25 lbs unassisted
• Ability to work at elevated heights with appropriate PPE (up to site-specified limits)
• May require compliance with ITAR or other federal export-control restrictions depending on role and project
