Overview

Confidential Client is hiring a hardworking Landscape Maintenance Technician to help keep campus grounds safe, attractive, and functional. This hands-on role performs routine turf and landscape maintenance, equipment upkeep, and general grounds care. This posting is for Stillwater, OK.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine turf and garden maintenance: mowing, string trimming, edging, and blowing
  • Remove leaves, mulch landscape beds, and perform manual weed control
  • Daily litter pickup and general grounds cleanup
  • Maintain equipment, tools, and supplies; report needed repairs to crew lead
  • Perform directional mowing and basic aeration when required
  • Inspect irrigation components and report issues
  • Identify and report plant stress, pest or disease signs, and environmental hazards
  • Respond to overtime, shift work, snow/ice removal, and emergency assignments as scheduled

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED (must be conferred by agreed start date)
  • LS Maint Tech I — entry-level; no prior experience required
  • Valid driver’s license at time of hire and maintained thereafter (required for operation of client vehicles)

Placement level is dependent on years of relevant experience:

  • LS Maint Tech II — ~2 years landscape maintenance experience, turf ID and maintenance
  • LS Maint Tech III — ~4 years + turf & weed ID and maintenance experience
  • LS Maint Tech IV — ~6 years plus plant ID and leadership experience
  • LS Maint Tech Sr. — ~10 years plus plant ID, insect/disease ID, and leadership experience

Certifications, Registrations & Licenses

  • Valid driver’s license required before hire and to be maintained
  • LS Maint Tech Sr. — completion of a landscape-maintenance certification program or related Associate/Bachelor’s degree is preferred/required at that level

Skills & Abilities

  • Strong interest in landscape maintenance and plants
  • Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and reliable work ethic
  • Ability to operate small-engine equipment and utility vehicles safely
  • Proficiency with hand tools (shovel, rakes, etc.)
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and work with minimal supervision
  • Basic computer skills and willingness to learn a CMMS (AiM) and mobile tech
  • Strong verbal and written communication; safe work practices and PPE compliance

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

  • Regular standing, bending, stooping, lifting above the shoulders
  • Frequently lift up to 50 lbs; occasionally lift in excess of 50 lbs
  • Work outdoors in extreme heat/cold, dust, hazardous noise, and with chemicals
  • May be designated essential personnel and required to respond to weather/emergency events

Compensation & Benefits

  • Pay range: $14.00 - $24.50 per hour (hourly)

Additional Notes

  • Work schedule: Typically Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–3:30 PM with occasional evenings, weekends, overtime, and shift assignments as needed
