What You’ll Do

• Assist survey crews with field data collection for boundary, topographic, and construction surveys
• Operate and maintain survey instruments including GPS units, total stations, levels, and data collectors
• Support construction staking and layout activities for commercial, residential, and infrastructure projects
• Collect accurate field measurements and record survey data for processing
• Process and organize field data for mapping, drafting, and reporting
• Assist in preparing survey maps, plats, and routine reports
• Research property records, deeds, maps, and prior surveys to support boundary work
• Work closely with licensed surveyors, engineers, and project managers to meet project requirements
• Follow site safety procedures and fieldwork best practices

What You Bring

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Surveying, Civil Engineering Technology, Geomatics, Geography, GIS, Construction Management, or a related field
• Basic understanding of land surveying principles and practices
• Familiarity with GPS equipment, total stations, or relevant surveying coursework
• Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem‑solving skills
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather and terrain conditions
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications

Preferred Qualifications

• Internship, co‑op, or academic experience directly related to surveying, civil engineering, or GIS
• Exposure to AutoCAD Civil 3D, Carlson Survey, MicroStation, or similar drafting/survey software
• Familiarity with survey calculations, boundary surveys, and topographic mapping
• Knowledge of GPS workflows, UAV/drone surveying, LiDAR, or GIS technologies
• Interest in pursuing Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) licensure over time

Compensation

• Expected salary range: $55,000 - $75,000 per year (depending on qualifications)
• Pay range posted for this role: $25.00 - $40.00 per hour
• Final pay will be determined by education, experience, skills, geographic factors, and other job‑related considerations
