LabVIEW Software Engineer

What You’ll Do
This role focuses on developing and maintaining data-acquisition and display life-test software for early prototype and reliability testing. You will work closely with hardware and test engineering teams to automate measurement collection, validate software in lab environments, and convert legacy tools to modern stacks.
- Develop and maintain data-acquisition software for Life Test SOPs and prototype test boards using LabVIEW and Python.
- Convert legacy LabVIEW tools and scripts to Python, delivering equivalent or improved functionality.
- Adapt and modify display measurement station software to support reliability testing use cases.
- Interface with DAQ hardware to automate collection of electrical, optical, and environmental data from life-test fixtures.
- Validate, debug, and troubleshoot software on-site in lab and hardware environments.
- Write and maintain technical documentation (architecture, README, Confluence pages) so stakeholders can build, distribute, and maintain projects.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with hardware, test, and reliability teams; obtain sign-off from the confidential client team and key stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field (or equivalent experience).
- Hands-on experience developing test/DAQ software using LabVIEW and Python.
- Experience interfacing with DAQ hardware and automated test equipment (ATE).
- Familiarity with serial communication protocols and collecting electrical/optical/environmental measurements.
- Working knowledge of version control systems (Git or SVN) and basic Unix command-line tools.
- Experience with hardware validation, NPI, or manufacturing test systems.
- Strong debugging and lab troubleshooting skills; comfortable validating software on-device and in-person.
Preferred / Nice-to-Have
- Experience with NI TestStand or other test-sequencing frameworks.
- Experience converting LabVIEW systems to Python in production or lab settings.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines for test automation.
- Knowledge of C/C++ for integration or automation tasks.
- Experience working with display measurement systems and reliability test fixtures.
- Exposure to project tracking and issue systems (e.g., Jira, Radar) and internal stakeholder workflows.
Success Criteria
- Delivery of reliable data-acquisition software for each assigned Life Test SOP and prototype board.
- Complete, tested conversion of critical LabVIEW tools to Python with equivalent or improved functionality.
- Software validated in lab/hardware environments with comprehensive test coverage and documentation.
- Adherence to the Reliability Software team’s development guidelines and sign-off from the confidential client team.
- Up-to-date, clear documentation (architecture diagrams, README, Confluence) enabling maintainability and handoff.

Location, Compensation & Legal Notes
- Location: Cupertino, CA (on-site or hybrid as required by the confidential client).
- Employment type: Full-time.
- Salary range (posted): $70,000–$101,000 per year. This range is provided to comply with applicable pay transparency laws; actual pay will be determined by experience, skills, and internal equity.
- Employment is contingent on eligibility to work in the U.S. and may require background checks consistent with state law.
