Position overview

Confidential Client seeks an entry-level Laboratory Technician to join a pharmaceuticals laboratory in Knoxville, TN. This is a 6-month on-site contract (100% onsite) on 2nd shift (M–F, 2:00pm–10:30pm). Recent graduates are encouraged to apply. Pay range: $21–$25/hr.

What You’ll Do

• Perform laboratory procedures related to donor and unit suitability testing and other required assays.
• Conduct routine analytical testing using manual and automated methods and evaluate results against established controls.
• Operate and maintain laboratory instrumentation; document testing, troubleshooting, calibration, and maintenance activities.
• Complete quality control, follow SOPs and applicable cGMP requirements for test methods and equipment.
• Maintain accurate records and use laboratory information systems and sample workflows to manage data.
• Troubleshoot instrumentation issues and escalate unresolved problems to supervisors.
• Follow regulatory, safety, EHS, and laboratory procedures; maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Collaborate with internal laboratory teams and assist with cross-department training as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical, physical, biological, clinical laboratory science, or medical technology from an accredited institution. Recent graduates welcome.
• Associate degree in chemical, physical, or biological science or medical laboratory technology considered.
• Intermediate to strong computer skills and familiarity with laboratory information systems.
• Ability to communicate clearly within the laboratory and with other departments.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Ability to stand or walk for extended periods and lift or carry up to 40 lbs.
• Comfortable working around laboratory chemicals and bloodborne pathogens; adheres to required PPE and safety procedures.
• Preferred: Tennessee MLT or MT licensure and up to 2 years of related laboratory experience.
