What You’ll Do

The Laboratory Technician will perform routine analytical and laboratory testing to support food/feed safety, quality, and operations. This is an entry-level role that will receive intermediate supervision for some tasks.

  • Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM CST.
  • Perform routine quantitative and qualitative laboratory tests on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products.
  • Check and monitor analytical instrumentation performance; run calibration checks and preventive maintenance.
  • Document and communicate test results by entering data into databases and notifying internal stakeholders as required.
  • Maintain and update customer specification records and basic instrument logs.
  • Support compliance programs by following procedures and monitoring adherence to applicable regulations and protocols.
  • Handle clerical or administrative tasks related to testing and escalate complex issues to senior staff.

Qualifications

  • Entry-level position — a Bachelor’s degree is not required.
  • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Comfortable working with analytical instrumentation; ability to perform basic calibration and preventive maintenance tasks.
  • Strong attention to detail and accurate data entry skills.
  • Good communication skills for reporting results and coordinating with cross-functional teams.
  • Willingness to follow established protocols for food/feed safety and quality assurance.

Location & Compensation

  • Location: Elk River, MN (on-site).
  • Estimated compensation: $58,911 per year (estimated).
