Overview
Confidential Client is seeking a Laboratory Assistant I (Chemist) for a 12-month, onsite assignment in Country Park Acres, NC. This role supports analytical and production laboratory activities for a leading organization in agricultural science and technology. This is a temporary assignment; pay rate: $22.30/hour.
What You’ll Do
- Perform research activities and routine laboratory tasks; record observations, measurements, and report results accurately.
- Prepare samples and stock standard solutions; operate and maintain analytical balances.
- Run and support chromatography analyses (LC, GC) as required.
- Clean, disinfect, and help maintain cleanrooms and laboratory equipment to required standards.
- Assist with receipt, inspection, ordering, and stocking of raw materials, reagents, and supplies.
- Operate and troubleshoot formulating and production equipment; perform routine and non-routine operations safely and efficiently.
- Support production or seed/crop protection processes (e.g., small-seeded vegetables, broccoli, cauliflower, celery, squash) to ensure quality and timely supply.
- Coordinate with third-party cleaning vendors and logistics partners; support order management and inventory tasks.
- Follow safety, quality and documentation procedures; escalate issues to supervisors when necessary.
- May assist in directing or mentoring more junior staff as needed.
Required Skills & Experience
- Sample preparation and stock standard solution preparation.
- Experience with chromatography techniques (LC, GC).
- Operation and maintenance of analytical balances.
- Ability to follow lab procedures, maintain accurate records, and work in a regulated environment.
- Strong attention to detail, good communication skills, and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- May require a bachelor’s degree in a related field depending on client requirements.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
