Overview
Confidential Client is seeking a Laboratory Analyst (Cepheid) to support bulk buffer, reagents, and bead production in a controlled, GMP/ISO-regulated environment. This is a contract, fully onsite role based in Woodbridge, CA. The position emphasizes strict documentation (cGMP/cGLP), adherence to SOPs, and safe handling of hazardous materials.
What You’ll Do
- Work safely with hazardous chemicals and immediately report safety concerns.
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and good documentation practices (cGDP/cGMP).
- Perform bulk buffer formulation according to established procedures.
- Execute bead production tasks (bead dropping using a beadulator, load/unload lyophilizers, sieve beads, aliquot and label materials).
- Conduct routine analytical tests (pH and conductivity) and accurately record results.
- Maintain accurate, real-time documentation to support right-first-time (RFT) operations.
- Monitor production and laboratory equipment and report abnormalities.
- Maintain laboratory housekeeping and manage reagent/equipment inventory levels.
- Recognize and escalate process deviations or defects per procedures.
- Recommend efficiency, quality, and safety improvements.
- Complete assigned training and maintain training compliance.
- Support other production and laboratory activities as needed to meet departmental goals.
Who You Are / Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent, OR an AA/Technical Trade degree with relevant experience (see experience details below).
- Ability to follow cGMP, cGLP, FDA, and ISO requirements in daily work.
- Strong ability to read, follow, and document SOPs; clear verbal and written communication.
- Basic laboratory skills in chemistry or a related discipline; experience in bulk buffer, reagents, or bead production environments preferred.
- Comfortable using common software (MS Word, Excel), email, and SAP.
- Physically able to lift up to 25 lbs, stand for extended periods, and perform repetitive arm/wrist motions. Able to move heavier materials (up to 400 lbs) with mechanical assistance.
- Able to work in a controlled environment and follow environmental and safety controls.
Preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences or related field.
- Prior experience in GMP or ISO-regulated manufacturing environments.
- Hands-on experience with analytical scales, pipettes, pH/conductivity meters, beadulators, lyophilizers.
- Previous experience as a laboratory technician, lab analyst, or in chemistry-focused production roles.
- Flexibility to work modified shifts, overtime, and occasional weekends.

Compensation & Benefits
- Pay range: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour (Contract). Actual pay within this range depends on qualifications, experience, and other job-related factors.
