Role Overview

This listing is for a Contract Lab Technician supporting a high-volume Scientific & QA laboratory in San Diego, CA. The Confidential Client seeks a hands-on technician who follows SOPs, maintains controlled test conditions, and documents results accurately to support product development and clinical testing.


What You’ll Do

  • Perform wet chemistry and laboratory testing following established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Prepare buffer solutions, reagents, and test materials using precise measurement techniques.
  • Execute validation, drift, linearity, and performance testing to support product and quality initiatives.
  • Maintain controlled testing environments to ensure reproducible results and data integrity.
  • Conduct visual inspections and component imaging to meet daily throughput goals.
  • Enter, organize, and maintain large volumes of test data in laboratory records and databases.
  • Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory equipment and instruments; report issues promptly.
  • Adhere to laboratory safety standards, GMP/GLP where applicable, and other regulated practices.
  • Collaborate with Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing, and R&D teams to meet testing objectives.
  • Support a high-mix, high-volume testing workflow with multiple concurrent procedures.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, Biotechnology, Biomedical Sciences, or a related field.
  • Hands-on laboratory experience from industry, research, co-op, or long-term internship.
  • Practical experience preparing buffers, solutions, and reagents.
  • Knowledge of wet chemistry techniques and controlled laboratory testing environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to follow detailed SOPs with high accuracy and consistency.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data quality and traceability.
  • Experience documenting laboratory activities and maintaining accurate records.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with drift, linearity, validation, or qualification testing.
  • Prior work in a high-throughput or production-style laboratory.
  • Familiarity with GMP, GLP, ISO, or other regulated laboratory frameworks.
  • Experience performing visual inspections, imaging, or component evaluations.
  • Comfortable handling large datasets, data entry, and lab documentation systems.
  • Experience supporting medical device, biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or life sciences projects.
  • Quick learner able to execute a broad range of laboratory testing procedures.

Pay & Benefits

  • Pay rate: $25.00 per hour (Contract).
