Role overview

Confidential Client is seeking an entry-level Immunology Lab Technician (Clinical Laboratory Technician) to join a high-volume neuroimmunology laboratory. This contract-to-hire, fully onsite role supports specialized autoimmune serology testing on serum and spinal fluid using both automated and manual methods. You will work in a fast-paced environment that is implementing advanced automation to drive throughput and quality.


What You’ll Do

  • Perform clinical laboratory testing on serum and spinal fluid to support diagnosis of autoimmune disorders of the brain, nerves, and muscles.
  • Run immunology and serology assays, including tissue and transfected cell–based fluorescence microscopy, radioimmunoassays, flow cytometry, western blot, ELISA, and chemiluminescence assays.
  • Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation and automation systems.
  • Execute both automated and manual testing procedures following established protocols and quality standards.
  • Accurately receive, label, process, and track specimens to ensure chain-of-custody and sample integrity.
  • Record and document test results and instrument activity according to laboratory standards.
  • Apply basic chemistry and biology knowledge to support procedure interpretation and solve technical issues.
  • Participate in implementation and optimization of new automation lines and workflow improvements.
  • Collaborate with laboratory colleagues to support continuous improvement, reliable turnaround times, and high throughput.

Who You Are (Minimum Requirements)

  • Bachelor's degree in a human biological science (e.g., Biology, Chemistry, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Neuroscience) or a closely related field.
  • Comfortable working onsite in a high-volume clinical laboratory environment.
  • Strong attention to detail, good documentation habits, and commitment to following regulatory and safety requirements.
  • Willingness to learn a range of immunology and serology techniques and to work with both automated systems and manual assays.

Preferred / Helpful Experience

  • Coursework or hands-on experience with ELISA, flow cytometry, immunofluorescence, western blot, or chemiluminescence assays.
  • Experience in specimen processing, laboratory instrumentation troubleshooting, or automation workflows.
  • Prior exposure to clinical laboratory quality systems (e.g., CLIA, CAP) is beneficial but not required for entry-level candidates.

Pay & Benefits

  • Pay range: $23.00 - $24.00 per hour. Individual pay offered will depend on qualifications, skills, relevant experience, and other job-related factors.
