Role Overview
Confidential Client is seeking a Lab Pack Chemist to perform on-site packaging and repackaging of hazardous and non-hazardous chemicals. This is a field-based, entry-level to early-career role well suited to chemistry, life-science, or environmental science graduates who want hands‑on experience in environmental services and hazardous waste management. The position requires regular regional travel (including 1–2 nights/week) and offers employer-sponsored training and certifications.
Responsibilities
- Inventory, identify, and accurately document hazardous and non-hazardous chemicals at customer sites.
- Segregate materials by chemical compatibility and regulatory requirements to ensure safe handling and transport.
- Package and repackage chemicals and hazardous waste into approved containers for transportation and disposal.
- Prepare documentation and manifests required for chemical and waste shipments (paper pack services).
- Follow DOT regulations and company procedures for labeling, packaging, and transporting hazardous materials.
- Provide on-site oversight for routine lab pack projects and guide customers on pre-pack preparation and segregation.
- Work collaboratively with team members to complete daily assignments at local and regional customer locations.
- Maintain a clean, organized work area and use company-provided vehicles and equipment responsibly.
- Communicate project status, requirements, and any safety or logistics issues with internal teams and customer contacts.
- Maintain a strong focus on safety and environmental compliance at all times.
Essential Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Life Science, Environmental Science, or a closely related field.
- Laboratory exposure and experience working around hazardous chemicals.
- Solid understanding of chemical properties, reactivity, and safe segregation practices.
- Working knowledge of hazardous waste handling and chemical safety protocols.
- Ability to follow and apply DOT hazardous materials regulations.
- Strong attention to detail for inventorying, labeling, and documenting materials.
- Comfortable working in environments where hazardous chemicals and waste are present.
- Ability to work effectively in team-based, field-focused assignments.
- Willingness and ability to travel overnight 1–2 days per week.
Additional Qualifications
- Prior experience in hazardous waste handling or hazardous waste management is preferred but not required.
- Interest in building a long-term career in environmental services, waste management, or related fields.
- Willingness to participate in employer-sponsored training and obtain industry certifications.
- Good verbal and written communication skills for customer interaction and documentation.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing daily assignments and different customer sites.
Work Environment & Travel
This is a full-time, Monday–Friday role that is primarily field-based. Daily assignments begin at a small local warehouse where crews receive work orders before traveling to customer sites across the region. The role does not involve traditional laboratory testing — responsibilities center on packaging, safe handling, documentation, and transportation preparation. Regular travel within the region (including 1–2 overnight stays per week) is required; hotels, work vehicles, and a non-taxable per diem for overnight meal expenses are provided.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $49,920.00 per year.

Job Type & Location
