Position overview
Confidential Client is hiring a Lab Associate, Media Development to support media and buffer preparation, lab maintenance, and inventory for cell-culture and related laboratory activities in Redmond, WA. This is a hands-on, full-time role focused on accurate solution preparation, troubleshooting media deviations, and supporting lab productivity improvements.
What You’ll Do
- Prepare cell-culture media, buffers, and solutions under the supervision of the Lab Manager
- Follow written protocols and SOPs to measure, mix, and document reagent preparations
- Troubleshoot deviations in media preparation and support investigations with scientists
- Maintain chemical and consumable inventories; assist with ordering and restocking
- Clean and maintain lab spaces and equipment; autoclave assemblies as needed
- Support cross-functional groups with solution prep and lab maintenance as time permits
- Contribute to lab efficiency initiatives and suggest process improvements
- Perform other assigned tasks to support day-to-day lab operations
Who You Are
- High school diploma plus ~5 years of relevant laboratory experience (or equivalent)
- Solid foundational chemistry knowledge (pH, osmolarity, solution calculations)
- Strong attention to detail and accurate record keeping
- Comfortable lifting up to 40 pounds and performing routine lab maintenance
- Proficient with Microsoft Office or Google Drive Suite
- Effective verbal and written communication skills in English
- Motivated, organized, and able to follow SOPs consistently
Preferred qualifications
- Associate degree (plus ~2 years lab experience) or an entry-level bachelor’s in chemistry, biology, or related field
- Prior experience preparing cell culture media and buffers
- Experience cleaning and maintaining laboratory equipment
- Familiarity with lab efficiency methods (Lean/6-Sigma basics) and workflow improvements
- Demonstrated ability to multitask and prioritize in a busy lab environment
Compensation & benefits
- Base pay: $28.00 – $31.00 per hour (non-exempt). Final pay depends on experience and role fit.
