What You’ll Do
This is an entry-level, onsite Lab Assistant / Lab Support Technician role supporting Quality Control (QC) labs at a pharmaceutical site. You will keep lab operations running smoothly by maintaining glassware and consumables, logging activities in the lab information system, and supporting continuous improvement efforts.
- Collect dirty glassware from QC labs (daily; sometimes twice daily)
- Sort and load glassware into two washers; maintain continuous wash cycles
- Unload and “muff” glassware after wash cycles
- Log all glassware and related activity in the gLIMS system
- Stock consumables and maintain organized supply areas
- Perform glasswashing, autoclaving, and basic stock-room tasks
- Attend biweekly Continuous Improvement meetings and participate in standard-work planning
- Keep workspaces clean, organized, and compliant with lab safety and quality procedures
Qualifications
Essential
- Bachelor’s degree in biology, chemistry, or a related life sciences field
- Prior lab experience from academic coursework, internships, or similar settings
- Strong attention to detail and a desire to build a career in pharmaceuticals and lab support
Preferred / Additional
- Experience with glass washing, autoclaving, and stockroom duties
- 0–1 years of laboratory experience (entry-level candidates encouraged)
- Comfortable using lab information systems (experience with gLIMS is a plus)
- Ability to follow written procedures and maintain accurate logs
Work Environment & Schedule
- Fully onsite — this role requires being on site five days per week at the Sanford / Olivia, NC facility
- Monday–Friday schedule, 8-hour shift with a 30-minute unpaid lunch; start time no later than 8:30 AM
- Expect to spend approximately 75% of time on your feet supporting labs and 25% on computer/office work
- Small immediate team with direct manager and scheduler; work is generally task-driven and independent once assignments are made
- This is a Contract position — candidates must be able to work onsite for the duration of the contract
