Overview
This listing describes a Prep Lab Assistant role supporting laboratory and pharmaceutical manufacturing operations. The position is onsite in Baxter Estates, NY and follows Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). The role focuses on sterilization, equipment preparation, routine maintenance, inventory transactions in SAP, and accurate quality documentation.
Responsibilities
- Clean, sanitize, and sterilize laboratory equipment per SOPs and quality standards
- Prepare materials and equipment for sterilization (wrapping, sealing, staging)
- Operate and load dry‑heat and vacuum ovens; maintain accurate logbooks
- Perform terminal sterilization activities and support production needs
- Assemble, set up, maintain, and repair laboratory glassware and related equipment
- Replace tubing and perform routine equipment maintenance
- Issue, document, and track deviation reports when required
- Complete inventory and material transactions using SAP
- Maintain accurate records to support quality and regulatory requirements
- Support general laboratory housekeeping and organization
- Follow all safety, quality, and GMP requirements
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 6 months of laboratory, pharmaceutical manufacturing, production, or related experience
- Basic knowledge of biology, chemistry, biochemistry, pharmaceutical sciences, or related discipline
- Understanding of laboratory procedures, quality systems, and documentation practices
- Ability to follow detailed procedures and maintain accurate records
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Valid driver’s license and reliable personal vehicle required for commuting to the facility
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or related field
- Experience in GMP/FDA‑regulated laboratory or pharmaceutical manufacturing environments
- Familiarity with SAP or other inventory management systems
- Experience with sterilization techniques and cleanroom operations
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds regularly
- Repeatedly handle, load, and unload trays and laboratory equipment during a shift
- Standing, walking, bending, and lifting for extended periods
- Ability to work safely in a manufacturing and laboratory environment
Work Schedule & Environment
- Full‑time, contract‑to‑hire position, fully onsite in Baxter Estates, NY
- Typical schedule: Monday–Friday with possible overtime
- Work is performed in a regulated pharmaceutical manufacturing/laboratory setting requiring strict adherence to safety and quality protocols

Pay & Benefits
- Pay range: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour (actual offer depends on qualifications, experience, and other job‑related factors)
