Role overview

Confidential Client is seeking a hands-on Junior Systems Administrator to help maintain a secure, modern, and highly available IT environment. This entry-level to early-career role focuses on Microsoft 365 administration, endpoint management (Intune), patching, ticket resolution, monitoring, and basic network/security support. This is a full-time, onsite position. Compensation range: $68,000 - $108,000 (based on experience) plus comprehensive benefits from day one.

What You’ll Do

• Support and administer Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, and Entra ID environments
• Assist with Intune configuration, troubleshooting, and device lifecycle management
• Help manage patching across endpoints and servers
• Triage, manage, and resolve support tickets (including escalations)
• Monitor systems and respond to alerts in a NOC-style environment
• Review security alerts and assist with incident response and remediation
• Assist with firewall, VPN, and basic network security configurations
• Troubleshoot cloud, endpoint, and network connectivity issues
• Support SaaS applications and integrations used by the business
• Maintain clear documentation for procedures, configurations, and changes
• Collaborate with IT and security teams to improve uptime, stability, and processes
• Travel up to 25% to Confidential Client locations to support deployments and projects

What You Will Have

• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in progress/completed or equivalent work experience
• Intermediate experience with Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, and Entra ID
• Familiarity with Intune or other MDM platforms
• Understanding of networking fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP)
• Basic troubleshooting experience with endpoints and user issues
• Exposure to root cause analysis (RCA) methodologies
• Strong communication skills and a willingness to learn and grow

Bonus Skills (Nice to Have)

• Experience with firewalls and network security tools (FortiGate is a plus)
• Knowledge of Microsoft Azure
• Basic Linux (Debian/Ubuntu) familiarity
• Scripting exposure (PowerShell, Bash, or Windows Batch)
• Experience with patch management tools (Automox or similar)
• macOS and Windows endpoint administration experience
• Virtualization exposure (VMware, Hyper-V, Proxmox)
• Exposure to EDR/MDR/SIEM tools
• Entry-level certifications (CompTIA A+, Network+)
