What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is hiring a Junior Staff Accountant to join its loan accounting team in Los Angeles, CA. This is an entry-level, on-site role supporting day-to-day accounting and financial reporting for mortgage and loan portfolios.
- Assist with preparation of daily journal entries and general ledger transactions for the loan accounting department
- Reconcile daily loan, cash, and debt transactions
- Support month-end and quarter-end close processes
- Help prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports
- Support internal and external audit requests and documentation
- Work with business users and technology teams to identify and resolve accounting issues and implement sustainable solutions
- Perform other duties as assigned by management
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Minimum of 1 year of accounting experience (entry-level candidates with relevant internship or loan/mortgage experience encouraged)
- Basic understanding of GAAP and financial reporting
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Experience with accounting software (Sage Intacct or similar preferred)
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams
Preferred / Nice-to-Have
- Previous exposure to loan accounting, mortgage lending processes, or loan servicing
- Hands-on experience with Sage Intacct
- Comfortable working with cross-functional teams to implement process improvements
Location & Schedule
- On-site in Los Angeles, CA — this role is not remote.
- Full-time schedule; standard business hours with occasional extra effort during close periods.
Compensation & Benefits
- Pay range: $24.00/hour – $31.00/hour (hourly). This range is provided in compliance with applicable pay transparency requirements.
