What You’ll Do

Confidential Client hires junior engineers who are eager to learn and contribute to production systems. Typical responsibilities include:

• Contribute to design, development, and maintenance of application code (Java and/or Python)
• Write performant SQL and help optimize database queries
• Assist with ETL/data pipeline components and learn streaming concepts
• Work with cloud tools and data platforms such as Databricks/Snowflake (training provided)
• Write unit and integration tests and participate in code reviews
• Troubleshoot issues, analyze logs, and fix bugs in development and staging environments
• Collaborate with product, QA, and senior engineers on architecture and feature delivery
• Document work and communicate progress in team stand-ups

Minimum Qualifications

Confidential Client seeks candidates who demonstrate solid fundamentals and a growth mindset:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Statistics or equivalent practical experience — recent graduates encouraged to apply
• 0–2 years of professional or internship experience building software or data solutions
• Proficiency in at least one programming language (Java or Python preferred)
• Basic SQL skills and understanding of relational databases
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to learn new tools quickly
• Clear written and verbal communication skills
• Legally authorized to work in the United States

Preferred / Nice‑to‑Have

• Experience or coursework with Spark, Databricks, Snowflake or similar data platforms
• Familiarity with REST APIs, Git, CI/CD, Docker, or container workflows
• Exposure to ETL concepts, streaming, or cloud services (AWS/GCP/Azure)
• Any project work that shows end-to-end pipeline or application experience (class projects, open-source contributions, capstone)
