What You’ll Do

This Junior Software Engineer role supports the development, integration, and operational management of air traffic management and control systems for a federal aviation program. You’ll work with system-level tooling, automation, and infrastructure to help modernize mission-critical operations.

• Support development and integration of air traffic management systems and related infrastructure
• Maintain and automate Linux-based systems (primarily Red Hat Enterprise Linux)
• Write and improve automation and scripts using Python and Bash/Shell
• Use configuration management and Infrastructure-as-Code practices (Ansible, IaC tooling)
• Work with container technologies (Podman/Docker) and manage VM lifecycles (VMware, KVM)
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, build automation, and release processes
• Troubleshoot system issues, participate in deployments, and document runbooks and procedures

What You’ll Need

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field (or equivalent experience)
• Less than 2 years of relevant experience (entry-level/junior)
• Strong scripting and automation skills in Python and Bash/Shell
• Linux system administration experience, preferably with Red Hat Enterprise Linux
• Familiarity with containerization (Podman/Docker) and virtualization (VMware, KVM)
• Basic experience with Ansible or other configuration management tools
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance (required for employment)
• Strong troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills

• Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools and pipelines
• Exposure to mission-critical or federal aviation systems
• Knowledge of security best practices for system administration and deployments
• Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools for large-scale systems

Compensation & Benefits

• Competitive annual salary range: $69,550 – $125,725 (USD), plus potential bonuses
