Overview
Confidential Client is hiring for an entry-level Junior Software Engineer / Power BI Developer with experience or interest in Snowflake. This role is remote (US-based candidates preferred) and ideal for recent grads, career-switchers, or engineers with strong algorithmic foundations who want to build real-world project experience across software engineering, BI, and cloud data platforms.
What You’ll Do
- Build and maintain backend services, APIs, and data integrations using Java, Python, or similar languages
- Develop dashboards and reports in Power BI, transforming business requirements into actionable visualizations
- Work with Snowflake for data modeling, ingestion, SQL development, and performance tuning
- Participate in full-stack feature development with Spring Boot (or comparable frameworks) and collaborate with frontend engineers when needed
- Write and optimize SQL for ETL, analytics queries, and data validation
- Use Git for source control and follow team CI/CD and DevOps best practices
- Debug production issues, contribute to technical design discussions, and document solutions
- Learn and apply modern data engineering and analytics patterns under mentorship
What We’re Looking For (Qualifications)
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Statistics or equivalent practical experience — recent grads encouraged
- Strong fundamentals in algorithms and data structures; evidence of coding ability (projects, coursework, LeetCode, GitHub)
- Practical SQL skills and familiarity with relational/columnar databases (Snowflake experience is a strong plus)
- Experience or interest in Power BI report development and dashboarding best practices
- Basic experience with Java and/or Python; familiarity with Spring Boot is a plus
- Comfortable using Git and collaborating in team development workflows
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and eagerness to learn in a hands-on environment
Preferred / Nice-to-Have
- Prior internship or project experience producing production-ready applications or BI solutions
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and basic DevOps/CI-CD concepts
- Exposure to data engineering tasks: ETL design, data pipelines, and data modeling
- Interest in data science / ML/AI workflows (not required)

- This is a remote role; candidates should be legally authorized to work in the U.S. and able to coordinate with U.S. time zones as needed
