The Opportunity

Junior Software Engineer Plano, TX — Join a small, startup‑minded engineering team building an investment services platform for a Confidential Client in the Financial Services industry. You’ll work with a modern stack (Go, Java, APIs, OpenShift and cloud tools) to deliver scalable, secure, and testable features that improve digital experiences for members and advisors.


What You’ll Do

  • Under direct supervision, design, develop, code, and test features and technical solutions.
  • Write clean, maintainable code and deliver regular feature improvements.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical problems and production issues.
  • Support application stability, scalability and performance improvements.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation.
  • Contribute to automated tests, test-driven development practices, and code‑quality improvements.
  • Follow risk, compliance and security controls in day-to-day engineering work.

What You Have

  • Bachelor’s degree OR two additional years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree, OR an approved coding certification (examples: CodeUp, Galvanize, VetFIT, eFIT).
  • Software development experience with Java or Python.
  • Foundational, conceptual knowledge of software engineering fundamentals.
  • Ability to clearly articulate technical challenges and proposed solutions.
  • Basic understanding of cloud technologies and related tools.

What Sets You Apart

  • Experience with application maintenance, testing and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Familiarity with programming languages beyond the primary language used on the team.
  • Understanding of Agile methodologies and software development lifecycle.
  • Focus on building secure, scalable, high‑performance applications.
  • Experience with build tools (Gradle or Maven) and version control systems (GIT).
  • Exposure to container platforms / orchestration (OpenShift) and CI/CD frameworks.
  • Familiarity with automated testing frameworks and test-driven development.

Compensation & Location

  • Salary range: $63,590.00 – $121,530.00 (USD, annual). Actual pay will be determined by experience and market data. This posting complies with pay transparency requirements.
  • Employment type: Full‑time.
  • Work location: Plano, TX — this role requires being in the office 4 days per week.
  • Relocation assistance is not available for this position.
