About Careertakes

👉 Important disclosure: Careertakes is a third-party recruiting platform supporting this hiring process. If selected, you will be employed directly by our client, IT Services and IT Consulting.

Applicants for this role may also receive access to additional matched opportunities through the Careertakes platform.

What You’ll Do

  • Build and ship production AI agents and automated workflows on Microsoft Copilot Studio, Power Automate, and AI Builder for business teams across commercial, logistics, terminals, and finance.
  • Develop pro-code components where low-code reaches its limits — API integrations, custom connectors, data extraction services, and supporting tool servers.
  • Partner directly with business users to map and translate processes into reliable, testable automation designs.
  • Write clean, reviewable code and follow SDLC best practices: version control (Git), code review, automated testing, CI/CD, and staged deployments across DEV/UAT/PROD.
  • Instrument your work with robust logging, error handling, and observability so others can diagnose and maintain solutions in production.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies, keep work visible in Jira, and communicate status proactively.
  • Rotate through an internal AI support channel to assist business teams with agent development questions and triage.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a closely related technical field.
  • Approximately 6 months of professional software engineering experience (internship, co-op, or full-time).
  • Working proficiency in at least one modern programming language — Python, Java, TypeScript/JavaScript, C#, or equivalent.
  • Solid understanding of software engineering fundamentals: data structures and algorithms, complexity reasoning, API design, relational databases and SQL.
  • Familiarity with the software development lifecycle and Git-based version control.
  • Ability to explain technical work clearly to non-technical business audiences, both verbally and in writing.
  • Strong analytical ability to decompose ambiguous business processes into concrete steps, inputs, outputs, and failure cases.
  • Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Exposure to LLM application development — prompt engineering, RAG, embeddings and vector stores, or agent frameworks such as LangChain.
  • Experience with Microsoft Power Platform (Power Automate, Copilot Studio, AI Builder, Dataverse) or another low-code automation platform.
  • Cloud experience with AWS or Azure; familiarity with Docker and CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions or equivalent).
  • Experience building or consuming REST APIs and integrating disparate systems.
  • Relevant coursework, projects, or internships in workflow automation, document/data extraction, or conversational interfaces.
  • Cloud certifications such as AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner or Microsoft PL-900/AI-900.

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong bias for finishing: you can take vague requirements and deliver working solutions end to end.
  • Clear communicator: you explain what you built and why, and raise issues early.
  • Fast learner: you pick up new agentic tooling and form pragmatic opinions about when to use it.

Location & Employment Type

  • Location: Phoenix, AZ — this role is onsite.
  • Employment type: Contractor.
  • Note: This position requires U.S. work authorization without current or future sponsorship.
