About the Role

Confidential Client is hiring an early-career Junior Software Engineer to join a small, highly technical backend/platform team in Manhattan. You will work on production real-time pricing, bidding, and transaction systems that integrate data pipelines and machine-learned models. This is an onsite, full-time role and includes a competitive base salary range.

What You’ll Do

• Maintain and improve backend services that power real-time pricing, bidding, and transactions.
• Build and manage data integrations, ETL pipelines, and mapping workflows across multiple sources.
• Integrate existing machine learning models into production applications and workflows.
• Develop internal tools and automation to improve platform reliability and operational efficiency.
• Troubleshoot production incidents and deliver scalable fixes.
• Contribute to backend APIs, data infrastructure, and platform improvements.
• Work in two-week sprints and collaborate closely with senior engineers across the stack.

Minimum Qualifications

• 0–2 years of professional software engineering experience (strong internships accepted).
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related STEM field.
• Hands-on experience with Python and backend development.
• Experience with backend systems, APIs, data pipelines, or engineering tools.
• Exposure to platform infrastructure, production systems, or operations automation.
• Ability to integrate existing machine learning models into production.
• Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, small-team environment.
• Must be available to work onsite in Manhattan five days per week.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Experience with ETL/data processing, distributed systems, or production ML workflows.
• Experience deploying or supporting machine learning infrastructure.
• Interest in fintech, real-time systems, or algorithmic trading.
• Prior startup or high-pace tech company experience.

• Base salary: $125,000–$175,000 (range provided by Confidential Client).
