Responsibilities

We are looking for a motivated Junior Software Engineer based in New York, NY to help develop, test, and maintain production software. This entry-level role is ideal for someone who wants mentorship, hands-on experience, and exposure to real-world engineering practices at a Confidential Client in the Marketing Services industry.

• Develop, test, and maintain software applications and new features.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve technical issues in collaboration with senior engineers.
• Implement and consume APIs; work with relational and/or NoSQL databases.
• Use version control (Git) and participate in code reviews to maintain code quality.
• Follow coding standards, write unit tests, and document technical designs and decisions.
• Support deployments, updates, and monitoring in staging and production environments.
• Continuously learn new languages, frameworks, and tools; contribute to team initiatives and knowledge sharing.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have foundational software development knowledge, a strong desire to learn, and good communication skills.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field preferred (or equivalent practical experience).
• Basic experience or coursework with one or more programming languages: Java, Python, C#, or JavaScript.
• Familiarity with databases, RESTful APIs, and version control systems (Git).
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills; attention to detail.
• Comfortable working in cross-functional teams and following agile practices.
• Quick learner with the ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment.
• Professional communication skills and eagerness to accept mentorship.
